KANPE goes to the l’Institut du Nouveau Monde Summer School

August 25, 2011

For the first time, on the 18th of August, KANPE took part in the 8th edition of summer school organized by l’Institut du Nouveau Monde (INM), at l’Ecole de technologie supérieure.  Dominique Anglade, President of the KANPE Foundation, was invited to contribute her ideas to a round table discussion on the theme of Creative Revolution.

Animated by Michel Venne, Director General of l’INM, the round table evening was a huge success.  Dominique was able to present KANPE’s innovative and creative process to 200 young people who turned up to meet, discuss and be inspired by those who INM calls « creative revolutionaries »,  including Charles-Mathieu Brunelle, Director General of ‘Espace pour la vie Montréal’, Dominic Champagne, engaged artist, and, Alain Deneault, author of Noir Canada and Offshore.

Three key topics of Global Vision, Motivation and Perspectives on the Future provided a clear picture of KANPE’s innovative role.  Dominique explained how KANPE’s unique integrated approach is revolutionary and creative in successfully countering poverty.  By working with its partners to address at once the many factors that perpetuate poverty, KANPE guides Haitian families into positions of financial independence thereby breaking the poverty cycle in a lasting way.

Through this annual INM event which encourages young people from 15 to 35 years old to debate social issues and take active roles in improving the world around them, the echoes of KANPE’s creative message rippled through the roomful of young global citizens, many of whom were asking for more information about the organization and its mission.

KANPE would like to thank l’Institut du Nouveau Monde for this opportunity to have participated in the dynamic exchange at this 8th edition of its Summer School.
