March 9, 2017

The first ever female Haitian Olympic swimmer, Naomy Grand’Pierre, will be the Kanaval Queen 2017.

19 year-old Naomy Grand’Pierre was born in Montreal and raised in Atlanta.

Naomy started competing for Haiti in 2015 and became Haiti’s first female Olympic Swimmer when she swam the 50m freestyle at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio. Naomy also serves the USA Swimming Diversity & Inclusion Committee as an athlete representative and has used her skills from this committee to help improve the Haitian Swimming Federation. She also plans on continuing to train and compete for Haiti in the hopes of qualifying for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.

Naomy is also KANPE USA’s first Ambassador and we are very proud!
