Goat Farming: A Path to Self-Sufficiency

March 6, 2025

In Baille Tourible, where agriculture and livestock are the main sources of income, KANPE supports a goat farming program to help families diversify their livelihoods and strengthen their economic independence.

Developed in collaboration with local associations, this program provides beneficiaries—primarily women and youth—with training in goat farming, including basic veterinary care, nutrition, and herd management. Each family receives a breeding goat with the commitment to pass on part of its offspring to other community members, ensuring the sustainable expansion of the initiative.

Since its launch, the program has helped build a growing herd, improving food security and economic stability for many households. By actively involving women and youth, KANPE promotes an inclusive development approach where everyone plays a role in improving their living conditions.

Through this initiative, KANPE continues its mission to equip rural communities with the tools they need to build a more prosperous and sustainable future.
