We are excited to join the Krewe du Kanaval from February 9th to 12th in New Orleans to celebrate the cultural and historical ties between this iconic Louisiana city and Haiti.

This year’s Kanaval theme is Women Warrior in honor of the women of Haiti and New Orleans who made history for their courage and actions against oppression.

A whole series of carnival activities will offer the opportunity to immerse yourself in the mesmerizing atmosphere of the New Orleans Mardi Gras in a unique setting. During the first three editions, the Krewe infused its magic on the Mardi Gras parade with its colors, costumes, and music and brought together several thousand people while highlighting the Haitian presence in the history and culture of the city.

Krewe du Kanaval is an organization dedicated to recognizing and celebrating the deep Haitian roots that have enriched the cultural identity and traditions of New Orleans for hundreds of years.

After bringing the warmth of Haitian kanaval to Montreal, KANPE has become a partner of Krewe du Kanaval, an organization co-founded by Régine Chassagne of Arcade Fire and also co-founder of KANPE. A portion of the proceeds will be used to fund our mission in Haiti.
