More preventive measures against COVID-19

July 14, 2020

Prevention measures continue to be deployed in the community we support in the Central Plateau in Haiti. While COVID-19 cases continue to increase across the country, no cases have been detected yet at Baille Tourible.

We are starting soon to implement new security protocols with the distribution of:

  • Cleaning and disinfection equipment;
  • Hygiene and personal protective equipment;
  • Materials for the construction of an “extended” waiting area at the medical clinic.

As part of these measures and thanks to the work of seamstresses in the region, more than 1,500 masks will be distributed to residents working in the experimental farm project and the medical clinic, among others.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, helping the community to apply illness prevention measures has been one of our top priorities in collaboration with our local partner Zanmi Lasante/Partners In Health. By launching a COVID-19 Emergency Fund, one of our objectives is:

  • to scale up our capacities to provide our clinic with the means to protect medical staff and our beneficiaries.
  • to support vulnerable families as well as the farmers of Baille Tourible in an effort to prevent food insecurity and revenue loss.
  • to offer increased support for women.
