Participate in KANPE conferences about engagement in Haiti on September 22nd

On September 22nd, KANPE will celebrate the launch of the book “Soulever les montagnes – L’œuvre du docteur Paul Farmer”, by author Tracy Kidder, and published by Éditions du Boréal, whose preface is signed by our great Ambassador Régine Chassagne.
University students and supporters in Montreal and from abroad are invited to two special and free events to discover and rethink humanitarian efforts in Haiti.
First stop: UQAM
Dr. Paul Farmer, chairman of the Department of Global and Social Medicine at Harvard, UN special envoy to Haiti and founder of Partners In Health, a partner organization of KANPE and Régine Chassagne will discuss the importance of addressing humanitarian aid in a different way, with a conference entitled “A new look at humanitarian aid”. A member of the KANPE Board of Governors, Maryse Alcindor will introduce the two speakers. First come, first seated!

Second stop: Concordia University
The discussion will continue at 5: 30 pm at Concordia University in English, this time in the form of a roundtable discussion on humanitarian engagement in Haiti with Dr. Paul Farmer, Régine Chassagne, and another Board Member of KANPE, Madeleine Féquière, Director, Corporate Credit, at Domtar. Places are limited and reservations are required for this free event before September 15, 2011.
