Hugo Merveille – COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER

Hugo carries Haiti in his heart and in his words. He loves telling the story of his country, capturing its nuances, and revealing its hidden treasures. For over a decade, he has been both the voice and witness of a Haiti that rarely makes the headlines, shaping the media landscape as a journalist for Le Nouvelliste and as the editorial secretary of the influential cultural magazine TICKET.

Driven by a deep desire to connect Haiti to the world, he co-founded the Club de Presse Haïti and the Caribbean Press Network, building bridges between Haitian, regional, and international media. He has collaborated with organizations such as Panos Haiti, shared his expertise at conferences in France and Taiwan, and later joined the United Nations mission in Haiti as part of the Communication department.

In 2019, Hugo joined the KANPE Foundation as Communications Manager and head of the donor recognition program. His commitment was a natural step, putting his talent and experience at the service of a cause close to his heart. Before that, he worked in Montreal as Editorial and Dissemination Officer for the National Mentorship Program on HIV and Hepatitis.

Hugo holds a Master’s degree in Social Communication from the Université du Québec à Montréal. He firmly believes in the power of words to shift perspectives and inspire action. Deeply attuned to social issues and Haiti’s development, he continues, through KANPE, to build connections and amplify the voices of those shaping Haiti’s future, day after day.
