Summer Camp 2025: Learning, Creativity, and Leadership for the Youth of Baille Tourible
From August 10 to 17, 2025, KANPE will host the 6th edition of its summer camp in Baille Tourible. Around one hundred young people, nearly half of whom are girls, will gather for eight unforgettable days filled with learning, sports, culture, environmental awareness, and civic reflection.
A camp like no other
KANPE’s summer camp is not just a moment of relaxation. It’s a space for awakening, empowerment, and showcasing local talent. Through a rich and inclusive program, participants will engage in a variety of activities designed to spark curiosity, boost self-esteem, and equip them to become leaders in their communities.
Hands-on and creative learning
Each morning and afternoon, participants will join hands-on workshops in a variety of fields:
-
Music
-
Macramé
-
Plastic waste recycling and decoration
-
Solar energy production
-
Beekeeping and hive construction
-
Pastry-making and preparation of the traditional drink “Kremas”
These workshops not only build practical skills but also encourage collaboration and innovation.
Conferences to inspire future thinking
One of the camp’s main goals is to empower young people to better understand their environment and take action to improve it. Guest experts will lead discussions on essential topics such as climate change, sustainable agriculture, bodily changes and puberty, infectious disease prevention, and more.
Culture, sports, and inclusion
Sports — especially soccer — play a central role, with matches organized for both girls and boys. Daily entertainment, parades, and cultural activities will animate the days in a festive and welcoming atmosphere.
An initiative for local autonomy
By creating this annual space for connection and growth, KANPE reinforces its commitment to rural Haitian youth. This camp is a key pillar of our mission: to build strong, autonomous, and resilient communities.
