February 6, 2013

Get a taste of the upcoming KANAVAL festivities here

The KANAVAL evening is a unique event organized in collaboration with POP Montréal and the PHI Center, created so that you can celebrate the Haitian carnival right here in Montreal while you support our work on the ground in Baille Tourible! There are four ways to participate:

1) Join the main event – $175

Come discover the treasures of Haiti and get a taste of Haiti’s legendary carnival with wild authentic masks and costumes, an art exhibition by famed British photographer Leah Gordon, and traditional Haitian delicacies, all to the beat of Haitian dance troupes and music. Performances will include local Haitian band Doody and Kami, and the participation of Montreal band Arcade Fire. There are many prizes to be won, including a trip for two in North America, or to a sunny destination, courtesy of Air Canada. Get your tickets here:

2) Dance at the KANAVAL “after party” – $30

If you’re in the mood to dance all night, the “after party” starts at 11PM. Win Butler and Richard Reed Parry from Arcade Fire, DJ The Salivation Army, Nom de Plume and DJ Ace will be manning the turntables, and more special guest DJs will be announced soon. Get your tickets here:

3) Live the life of a KANAVAL VIP – $400

Along with access to the main event, the VIP treatment includes an exclusive meeting with members of Arcade Fire and other special guests, with food and drinks provided. Get your tickets here:
