A water retention wall to protect the seedlings

April 12, 2021

A water retention wall was built upstream of the experimental farm in the community we support in the Central Plateau in Haïti.

The farmers took the initiative to protect the seedlings. The wall was built with stones picked from the area.

The rainy season should start in May. With this work, they are now less worried!

The experimental farm was launched in early 2020 and aims to produce: 1) fruit and forest trees 2) agricultural commodities and 3) livestock and poultry.

By the end of 2020, more than 20,000 seedlings have been produced, 15,000 of which were planted in reforestation campaigns by the local peasant association.
