Esmine: Work for the Entire Community

March 13, 2024

Esmine Siméon, 38, is a native of Baille Tourible and the mother of three children. She is a tradeswoman. Taking part in the soil conservation work was a duty for her and the other members of the women’s associations.

For Esmine, this work is of particular importance, as it protects her land from erosion caused by the rains, ensuring food security for her and her family.

She attests to the importance of the land in her life, pointing out that it provides her with all the things she needs without having to buy them. She is confident that with hard work and the right weather conditions, farming can provide for her family. “A successful harvest means having enough to help others in the community who need it,” she points out.
