New classrooms for secondary school students
Since the beginning of the year, the students of Baille Tourible secondary school have benefited from new facilities.
Following the inauguration of the new school in January, the students of the first 3 years of secondary school have access to larger classrooms and brand new school furniture.
Indeed, a former church had been graciously donated to the community to be transformed into a school. In addition to the 3 new classrooms, a space was built to house the principal’s office. The classrooms are equipped with 30 benches, 4 cupboards, 3 blackboards, 4 tables, and 4 teachers’ chairs. All the renovation was done by local workers.
These new facilities improve both the learning and teaching experience for students and teachers respectively. They will help retain the local students and talent needed for quality education.
At the KANPE Foundation, we believe that a solid education will help prevent younger generations from falling into extreme poverty as adults. This is why we support various educational projects in the community of Baille Tourible in the Central Plateau of Haiti.
Since 2017, with its local Haitian partner, Summits Education (a Haitian organization with more than 20 years of experience in the Centre Department), KANPE has been working to ensure a conducive learning environment for more than 500 students from elementary and secondary school in Baille Tourible.
