Jennifer Brown – Executive Director

Jennifer has served as Executive Director of the Foundation since December 2022. She joined The KANPE Foundation in March 2020 as Director of Development. She has more than 15 years of experience in philanthropic management with non-profit organizations, particularly humanitarian and international cooperation organizations. Until recently she was responsible for partnerships with Canadian foundations at Crossroads International.

Jennifer holds a Master’s Degree in International Relations and International Law from the Université du Québec à Montréal, and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and International Development from McGill University. Previously she worked as a consultant for over 10 years with a prominent Montreal-based philanthropic management consulting firm.

Daughter of a Canadian diplomat, Jennifer has lived and traveled to many different countries, mainly in northern Africa, Asia and Central and South America. In 1986, she was witness to the People Power Revolution in the Philippines. Memories of demonstrating in the streets and learning firsthand about civil resistance and the nonviolent power of the people had a significant influence on her.

Jennifer later volunteered with Projet Accompagnement Québec-Guatemala as an international human rights observer with a local women’s rights organization in Guatemala City. She also volunteered with the Centre d’étude et de coopération Internationale (CECI) and the McGill Center for Research and Teaching on Women in Nepal.

Jennifer is proud to join such an innovative and devoted team at The KANPE Foundation.
