Leadership as a key to sustainability
We believe that sustainability goes beyond projects—it starts with people. Leadership is essential to maintain progress and ensure continuity. That’s why we empower young people to take on leadership roles, providing them with the tools and knowledge needed to manage and grow KANPE-initiated projects.
In Baille Tourible, for example, many youths who participated in our summer camps now lead workshops or support their peers in setting up school and environmental committees. This transfer of skills reflects KANPE’s vision: leaders who not only strengthen their own communities but also share their expertise with neighboring areas, creating a regional ripple effect.
An intergenerational impact
Our work is sustainable because it fosters genuine intergenerational impact. We have implemented succession systems in every sector, ensuring that the knowledge and practices passed on today continue to advance communities tomorrow.
The goat-rearing program is a perfect example: each beneficiary family commits to passing on a kid to another family, creating a chain of solidarity across generations. Similarly, our microcredit program has enabled women entrepreneurs to grow their businesses, some of whom now mentor new beneficiaries in turn.
By placing communities at the center—whether through governance training in the community Oasis, health education in the Baille Tourible clinic, or agricultural projects that restore soils and ecosystems—KANPE ensures that its actions take deep root and strengthen over time.
