Our Field Partners: The Living Heart of KANPE’s Work. Rooted in their communities, they share our vision of development driven by local leadership, social justice, and solidarity.
Thanks to their expertise, commitment, and knowledge of local realities, our projects take root sustainably and respond to the needs of rural families in the Central Plateau.

Zanmi Lasante, the Haitian branch of Partners In Health, has been working for over 20 years to make health care a human right in Haiti. Active in the Central Plateau and Artibonite, the organization provides free, quality care in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, employing over 4,000 mostly local staff.
Historically a partner of KANPE in Baille Tourible, Zanmi Lasante helped establish the community clinic, a cornerstone of the local health system. Together, we uphold a vision based on dignity, equity, and the empowerment of rural communities.

Summits Education advocates for quality education as a fundamental human right and works with rural Haitian communities to build educational systems adapted to local realities.
Since 2017, KANPE has collaborated with Summits to support the École nationale de Baille Tourible, which now serves over 400 students. Together, we strengthen teaching quality through ongoing teacher training and improved pedagogical structures, providing children with the tools to learn, dream, and become agents of change in their communities.

Fonkoze is Haiti’s largest microfinance institution and a key actor in promoting financial inclusion for rural women. With over 55,000 borrowers and 37 branches, it is deeply rooted in local communities.
KANPE partnered with Fonkoze through the Chemen Lavi Miyò program, providing 18 months of support to 350 female heads of households to improve health, housing, education, and income. Through goat and poultry farming and the distribution of pigs, these families launched income-generating activities. Together, we create sustainable economic opportunities for women, who are pillars of Haiti’s economy.

The Mouvement Paysan de Papaye (MPP) is one of Haiti’s most influential peasant organizations. It defends farmers’ rights and promotes social justice, food sovereignty, and solidarity-based economic development. Through training and collective action, MPP supports rural communities toward sustainable and autonomous agriculture.
KANPE collaborates with MPP in agroforestry and community training programs to strengthen the resilience of Central Plateau producers facing climate and economic challenges. Together, we support farmer-led transformation.

Founded by and for the youth of Baille Tourible, the AJLBT drives local leadership. It mobilizes committed young people around reforestation, agriculture, training, tutoring, and cultural activities, fostering strong and collaborative leadership.
Since its inception, KANPE has supported AJLBT to strengthen youth capacity and their structuring role in the community. Together, we leverage the creativity and engagement of young people to develop sustainable, locally-designed solutions.

Sere pou Chofe, a community association born in Baille Tourible, primarily gathers women and youth committed to local economic development. Its name—“save to move forward”—reflects its mission: promoting financial autonomy through solidarity, collective savings, and entrepreneurship. The organization implements community credit funds, agricultural and livestock projects, and training in management, financial literacy, and leadership.
Since 2023, KANPE has collaborated with Sere pou Chofe to make microcredit accessible to Baille Tourible’s most disadvantaged populations, strengthening women’s economic power.

The Francophone Environmental Action Group (GAFE) has been active in Haiti for over 20 years in local development and environmental education.
In 2024, KANPE launched a beekeeping project in Baille Tourible with GAFE, combining economic development, ecology, and community training. The project includes a medicinal garden, a nursery of melliferous species, and community hives. Together, GAFE and KANPE work to restore biodiversity, strengthen food security, and create new income sources for rural families in the Central Plateau.

Founded in 2003, GRADIMIRH is a Haitian nonprofit working for the sustainable development of rural communities through action-research, training, and rural engineering. It has carried out more than twenty projects nationwide and trained over 600 youth in agroecology and agricultural planning.
KANPE collaborates with GRADIMIRH on key studies, including the 2022 agro-environmental and socio-economic assessment of Baille Tourible and the 2023 feasibility study for access to drinking water. This partnership strengthens local planning and project impact.

Founded in 2005, ODB brings together over 300 members committed to the collective progress of their community. It supports local agriculture through a community seed bank, reforestation activities, and goat farming. ODB also plays a key role in local development by facilitating road improvements and providing spaces for the health center, hospital, and community gatherings.
KANPE works closely with ODB to support food security and build a sustainable future in Baille Tourible.

From the start, KANPE has placed women at the heart of community development. In Baille Tourible, we collaborate with three women’s associations and a local federation—ASOFAB, OFADEB, and Fanm Deside—representing over 150 members. These organizations play a key role in management training and operate a women-focused seed bank, enabling the launch of income-generating agricultural activities. This partnership strengthens women’s economic and social autonomy, making them role models and leaders for future generations.
