Economic development is a key lever for the autonomy of Haiti’s rural communities. KANPE supports local entrepreneurship by helping women, youth, and farmers create and grow income-generating activities.
Our Actions
Opportunities for economic advancement are limited in rural Haiti, yet the drive to create and innovate is strong. KANPE strengthens entrepreneurship through:
- A community microcredit program: Since its launch, this program has issued over 750 loans, with a near 100% repayment rate. Funds are reinvested to support new projects and local associations.
- Supporting women entrepreneurs: We work with three women’s associations, notably through the Federation of Women’s Associations of Baille Tourible (FAFBAT), fostering collaboration and building business management skills.
- Developing agricultural and livestock initiatives: KANPE supports projects such as goat-rearing, community seed banks, and local farms to improve food security and diversify income sources.
