Our Commitment is Unwavering

KANPE is more than an organization: it is a call to action. An international solidarity movement that brings together the Haitian diaspora and all allies who believe in Haiti’s potential. We are convinced that a dignified, just, and prosperous future is not only possible, but inevitable for the Haitian people.

Social Justice: Our Compass for Transforming Realities

Our commitment is rooted in a vision inspired by leaders like Paul Farmer and the pioneering work of Partners In Health (Zanmi Lasante in Haiti), who have shown that even the most difficult realities can be transformed through rigor, compassion, and a commitment to justice.

At KANPE, everything begins with a deep conviction: social justice is the foundation of real and lasting change. Whether in the mountains of Haiti, on stage, in the streets, or in parliaments, we move forward with the certainty that human dignity, fairness, and fundamental rights must be defended for all.

Every action we take seeks to challenge systems of oppression, correct imbalances, and amplify the voices of the most marginalized communities, ensuring they are at the heart of solutions and equipped to claim their own power.

Mobilizing Voices, Here and Beyond

KANPE works on the ground, but also in the public sphere, where narratives are formed and perceptions are shaped. We fight against biased and reductive portrayals of Haiti in the media and political discourse, which perpetuate skewed and fatalistic views.

We choose to highlight the creativity, strength, resilience, and solutions brought forward by the Haitian people.

In collaboration with partner organizations, civic movements, artists, and activists, we build coalitions to demand sustainable investment, coherent policies, and active solidarity with Haiti—rooted in truth and respect.

Celebrating Haiti to Support It

Our fundraising events are more than campaigns: they are celebrations of Haitian culture, its richness, beauty, and history.

Each gathering is an opportunity to build bridges between Haiti, its diaspora, and its allies. We beat the drums, honor ancestors, sing, cook, and dance to connect and mobilize.

Kanaval, launched in Montreal in 2013 and now based in New Orleans as Krewe du Kanaval, has become one of our most powerful expressions. This unique celebration pays tribute to the Haitian roots of the city and weaves connections between Louisiana Creole culture and Haitian heritage. It is an artistic, political, and community platform that unites past and present, celebration and engagement.
