Haiti is full of talent and committed leaders. At KANPE, we build on this by collaborating with Haitian organizations and local community actors. For over 15 years, we have worked in rural areas to support development rooted in local needs, leadership, and knowledge.

Our holistic vision means integrating the economic, social, cultural, and environmental dimensions of development while addressing past and present structural injustices. It is also a long-term vision: today’s results must lay the groundwork for tomorrow’s progress.
We believe that a standing Haiti begins with a standing community—a community capable of planning, dreaming, deciding, and acting on its own.
Leadership: A Generational Lever
One of the most powerful pillars of our approach is the development of local leadership, particularly among women and youth. In rural areas where resources are scarce, they are often the ones ensuring the survival and cohesion of their communities. We see them not just as beneficiaries, but as builders of the future.
We support these leaders through training, economic projects, participatory governance spaces, and tools to fully exercise their roles. Investing in their potential means investing in change that will be passed down from generation to generation.
When a young girl is educated, gains confidence, and becomes an entrepreneur, or a local leader, she transforms far more than her own future—she creates a new standard for her family, her community, and generations to come.
