Infrastructure

Laying the Foundations for Progress

Basic infrastructure is essential to support development in rural communities. KANPE invests in building and renovating facilities, enabling residents to better meet their needs and lay the groundwork for sustainable growth.

Our Actions

In Baille Tourible, access to essential services such as education, healthcare, and crop storage is limited by a lack of adequate buildings and passable roads. KANPE supports the development of community structures through:

  • Strengthening healthcare infrastructure: KANPE supports a community clinic—the only facility serving over 24,000 people. We fund maintenance and improvements to ensure long-term access to quality healthcare.
  • Building and improving educational facilities: In partnership with Summits Education, we helped rehabilitate the École Nationale de Baille Tourible, renovating classrooms, adding furniture, and building a school canteen to provide meals for students.
  • Creating community spaces: We built and renovated community buildings, including dedicated areas for women and youth to develop collective projects and local economic initiatives.
  • Grain storage for food sovereignty: To reduce post-harvest losses and secure agricultural production, we installed storage systems that allow farmers to better manage their crops and strengthen local food autonomy.
  • Improving access and mobility: Road conditions directly affect access to healthcare, education, and markets. KANPE supports local efforts to maintain and improve roads connecting Baille Tourible to surrounding areas.

Our Impact

  • Sustainable healthcare facilities: Support for the community clinic ensures continuous care for over 24,000 residents with well-maintained, fit-for-purpose facilities.
  • Better-equipped schools: Rehabilitation of the École Nationale de Baille Tourible has improved learning conditions with secure buildings, proper furniture, and a functional school canteen.
  • Structured community spaces: Renovated or newly built community buildings provide women and youth with places to meet, learn, and develop collective and economic projects.
  • Enhanced food security: Storage silos reduce post-harvest losses and help farmers maximize their production, strengthening local food autonomy.
  • Easier access to essential services: Improved and maintained roads enhance mobility, facilitating access to healthcare, education, and markets for rural families.

Robust infrastructure is key to building a future where every community can thrive, access essential services, and drive its own development initiatives.
